BHMS Music Performance Attire - NEW for 2011-2012
BHMS music students dress professionally for
concerts, field trips and public appearances.
The dress sets the first impression and tone of the performance before
the music starts. Please make sure
that your student has the appropriate concert attire.
Boys: Black
dress pants/slacks, black socks, black dress shoes, and green
BHMS music polo shirt (tucked in).
Girls: Black
pants/slacks with black socks or black skirt (knee length or
longer) with black tights, black dress shoes, and green BHMS
music polo shirt (tucked in).
BHMS Green Polo Shirt: These new polo shirts are GREEN. The band and orchestra teachers will distribute purchasing information during the first weeks of school. Cost is estimated at $15.
Boys: Black dress pants/slacks, black socks, black dress shoes and long-sleeved, white tuxedo shirt. Tuxedo shirts will be purchased through BHMS in September. Estimated cost is under $20. Bow ties and cummerbunds are provided by the school and will be issued before each concert.
Girls:
Black dress pants/slacks with black socks or black skirt
(knee length or longer) with black tights, black dress shoes and white,
dressy blouse with sleeves. Be mindful that skirts rise when seated.
Please, no jeans, leggings, yoga pants, footless leggings, or bare legs.
Choir Members: Black
dress pants/slacks. Black shirts or blouses with a “splash of
color” (scarf, tie, necklace) as directed by the BHMS choir director. Black
socks or tights and black shoes.
Musical Theater:
Performance attire as determined by the director.
As part of the BHMS music team, students are expected to take their performance attire seriously. Just as sports teams wear matching uniforms, please be respectful of your music “teammates” and dress so the entire group looks neat and professional.
